Unions are always against taking steps forward which result in increase in productivity and fewer workers needed.
Back in the 1980’s, I worked for a grocery store and the union had a huge campaign against scanners, trying to insist that each can of peas be marked with the price before being put on the shelf.
If America had relied on these guys, we’d still be mining coal with a pick and shovel to save their jobs.
