The Republicans can find something else to cut. This is not good politically.

I agree. There are MANY programs that can be cut, but paying benefits to people who WERE working up until recently is not a bad thing in my book. They take unenmployment insurance out of your paycheck automatically, so that if you lose your job you get these benefits. These are strained times, and I don't begrudge anyone getting benefits, because THEY WORKED and paid into the fund. This isn't welfare.

Nope. Don’t pay anyone not to work. All should do public service 48 hours a week for about 60% of what they get.

These younger folks who have a job will one day find out what it’s like not to have one. And someday they’ll learn that it’s a lot easier to find a job when you have one. But I guess they’re not “compassionate conservatives”. Either that or they don’t realize this also cuts people off who’ve only been drawing the checks for 26 weeks.

I’ve posted several times to those who come on here chastising people about getting unemployment and saying things like “get cracking” to put out some resumes and see what they get. I haven’t had any takers yet. And if I do I hope they’re honest.

There are no jobs. Especially for older people. No company will hire an older person who more than likely will have health issues before the younger applicants. So I wonder what will be posted on here when they’re friends and relatives lose their jobs and start committing suicide. Some people need to think before they post.
