It’s like his threat of ass-kicking...some image consultant has counseled him to undo his high survey scores on “effeminacy” and “impotence” by engaging in alpha male stunts like talking tough, wearing earth tones, etc.
Here's a lesson on how to really call someone's bluff.
First, the person -- in this case, that would be you, sir -- has to be bluffing. (Unfortunately for you, we, the American people are NOT bluffing; we really, really, really hate your out-of-control spending and we are committed to doing all we can to be heard until we get this fixed.)
Second, the person calling the bluff never telegraphs that ahead of time, as you so amateurly, petulantly and adolescently just did on a world stage. Rather, the person matter-of-factly set out the facts that show you are a prevaricator and mendacious weasel.
Then they juxtapose facts -- you said, for example, you would send troops, money and advisors to Arizona,then you did nothing of the sort -- until the conclusion -- that you, yes, you, sir, are bluffing and a prevaricator and mendacious weasel of huge proportions -- is indisputable.
