Huckabee says polling shows he's best Republican to take on Obama in 2012
The Hill ^ | 06/27/10 | Eric Zimmermann

Mike Huckabee said Sunday he's the strongest Republican to take on President Obama in 2012.

"I end up leading a lot of the polls," the former Arkansas governor told "Fox News Sunday." "I’m the Republican that clearly at this point does better against Obama than any other Republican."

Huckabee said he hasn't made up his mind about running, but suggested he's strongly considering it.

“I haven’t closed the door. I think that would be foolish on my part, especially when poll after poll shows that there is strong sentiment out there," he said.

He believes the media polls and does NOT KNOW YET how they media picks the weakest (R) candidate! Teenagers already have knowledge of that. How dumb can one be and still breathe?

At first I thought this was Semmens’ satire, OK. its not. Our problem lately is that Americans seem to want wimps/wusses for President. What we need is strong leadership, emphasis on the leader. Huckabee? leader?? I don’t see it in him or Romney. Actually I don’t see it out there at all at the moment. Where is the next Reagan? Some talk the talk but will they walk the walk if elected?

If I were king, no one who ran in 2008 could run in 2010.

You must be king. None of them can run for president for 2010.

we absolutely have to get a real candidate and not a media star like Palin or Huckabee.

Who do you like?

Palin isn’t a media star - stop with the liberal talking points!

The only person out there at the moment who could clearly stomp Zero into pulp while actually upholding conservative values is Chris Christie. He's absolutely amazing.

Unfortunately, he has said that he's not interested. I hope he changes his mind, though I admire his dedication to the job the voters elected him to. It shows that he puts his duty above his personal ambition, something that is virtually non-existent in politics today.

Might be true if he were an actual Republican instead of a populist demagogue.

Sometimes you CAN reduce complex issues to TOO low a common denominator.
His so-called “Fair” tax scheme, for example...

McLame, Huckabee, Romney, Palin

McCain was too old then. He even knows he is too old now. He won't run. The other three are a safe bet along with Keyes, and Paul. I'm with you, bring on the fresh blood.

Chris Christie needs to finish the job and his term. I’m tired of political hacks quitting to run for the next job before they’ve finished the last one and proven themselves. I agree that he has what it takes though.

It’s interesting that you stick those two together. Huck isn’t worthy to shine Sarah’s shoes.

"Chris Christie needs to finish the job and his term."

Agreed. I'd pay to see him debate Obama, however. It would be Godzilla vs OBambi.
