What has happened to us as a nation since WWII? We no longer fight to pacify the enemy, we don't even fight to win, but rather we bend over backwards to win their 'hearts & minds'!! IMHO that is a losing strategy and nothing more than a death wish on our part.

Even worse, we're trying to win hearts and minds that CANNOT be won. Islam simply is not compatible with western ideals and values, and it never will be.
We've allowed egg head Congressmen in Washington to fight our wars. We've conditioned ourselves into believing that a bunch of egg heads on Capitol Hill know more than the fighting Generals on the battlefield. This is why we have not won a war since the Second World War and this is why we will never win a war in the foreseeable future.
