I’d be sorry if you are right, as I am hoping that Gen. McCrysal’s departure from office will liberate him to do just that — tell the truth. Can we not hope that he will? Are you aware of reasons to think he will not?

Sounds a lot like McChrystal planned to commit an equivalent of the
suicide by cop and get out of serving under Obama and his ROE, after he became "disappointed" in Obama...
