Opposition to the School of the Americas is profoundly well organized and funded. Kennedy utilized surrogates like John Lewis, D-GA-5th to offer legislation to stop its funding. In 2006, Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA) and Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) introduced an amendment to the FY 2006 Foreign Operations bill that would have cut funding for the SOA/WHINSEC. It was voted down.

In light of this devious legacy, DIA and FBI should consider further investigation of SOA Watch. The following is from their website:

SOA Watch is an independent organization that seeks to close the US Army School of the Americas, under whatever name it is called, through vigils and fasts, demonstrations and nonviolent protest, as well as media and legislative work.

Mission Statement

SOA Watch is a nonviolent grassroots movement that works to stand in solidarity with the people of Latin America and the Caribbean, to close the SOA/WHINSEC and to change oppressive U.S. foreign policy that the SOA represents. We are grateful to our sisters and brothers throughout Latin America and the Caribbean for their inspiration and the invitation to join them in their struggle for economic and social justice. http://www.soaw.org/

But of course, the School of the America’s “watch” has no foreign money coing into it either.....

Didn’t Soros fund 800+ million dollars into democrat races in 2008?
