BP, White House, Congress Are All Dirty
IBD Editorials ^ | June 21, 2010 | LARRY KUDLOW

Amidst all the political jockeying over the BP catastrophe, the main players are missing what is really uppermost on America's mind: It's the spill rate, stupid. It's jobs, stupid. It's the economy, stupid. And none of it is happening.

All eyes in Washington, Wall Street, and Main Street were turned this week to the congressional show trial featuring beleaguered BP CEO Tony Hayward.

Hayward was a disaster. He played dumb. He stonewalled. And he never got honest about the colossal failure of human judgment at BP that caused this catastrophe.

But folks, seriously, what did you expect? Before this thing is said and done, Hayward and others at BP may very well be criminally indicted by the Justice Department.

Hayward could eventually do hard time for all I know. So, of course, he stonewalled. Thank Eric Holder.

Failed Leadership

What Hayward should at least have done is talk about the progress being made in capping the spill rate, which is gradually going down.

To most Americans, and especially those in the Gulf, it's the spill rate of capture that matters most.

Hayward also should have talked about the new BP relief well, which could be up and running in less than a month, to end this disaster.

The writer doesn’t get it. If BP was allowed to drill in less risky areas, this never would have happened. Or if it did happen, it wouldn’t be anywhere near the colossal problem it is now.

I gotta tell ya, I have big concerns about this one. The well blows up, Obama closes down all deep sea wells in the Gulf, rumors of eight platforms moving to Brazil, Obama gives $2 Billion to Brazil for their wells, Soros is the biggest investor in Brazil. If there’s any connection in all this, this guy needs to be impeached. If the Democrats are part of it, they should all be kicked out of office.

The only thing that will set us back on the path to a restored Republic will be military intervention and a house-cleaning of Biblical proportions. The social contract and the basis of trust - the unwritten rules that have held us together have been sundered.

We are under the rule of killers without conscience. Monsters - all of them.

You can blame the democrats and the environmentalists that the oil companies, and that includes BP are not allowed to drill offshore and in less risky areas like ANWAR

I concur.

Here is what I posted last Friday:
""Our thoroughly corrupt federal government has moved way beyond that line in the sand. Oaths of office are breached with impunity and ethics and integrity have become merely quaint terms of yesteryear, meaningless to our political elite. Whatever moral or legal authority they had to govern is now gone. They continue in office at our sufferance, subject to removal whenever we feel like it."

BP was one of the authors of the Cap and Trade legtislation. Now their spill in the Gulf is being used to pull that legislation out of the trash can and put it back on the table.

Color me highly suspicious -- especially when its CEO sells half of his stock only a few weeks before the spill.

You can also blame them for shutting down nuclear plants, any new oil refineries, coal powered plants etc.

Lawsuit against planned coal-fired power plant stands

15 June 2010-- A federal judge on June 15 rejected a motion by Southwestern Electric Power Co. (SWEPCO) to dismiss a lawsuit seeking to block construction of a coal-fired power plant in Arkansas, according to an article in the Arkansas News.

Two environmental groups filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court saying the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers did not follow proper permitting procedures when it granted SWEPCO an environmental permit for the planned 600 MW Turk coal-fired power plant, the article said.

Yet no one moves to stop it. I can’t do it by myself, although history has shown us that one man of purpose and will can change the entire course of history.

Let's see: BP gives just under a million to O'Tarball's campaign. His rig passes inspections with flying colors. Comparisons to other rigs show many more citations than other companies (like 700 vs. 7) numerious times.

I'm not saying BP was lax, but the cash-advance they paid to the One may have bought them some leniency in oversight which may have led to taking short-cuts that might be at the root of the problem on a deep-water platform.

However, Rahm's recent finger pointing at Hayward's sailing excursion suggests it didn't buy him much insurance from these Alinskyites. "Him villian, we good."

Don't you wish that this tribe of traitors could do without Rules For Radicals, just once?

You forgot to mention that BP was involved in the invention of the cap and trade scam.
