MMS blew it big time....this administration is a joke...
I thought the head of MMS that islamabama just fired was a Bush appointee.
There were supposedly experts on that rig who were afraid it was going to blow. That’s what’s being said. If I was an expert on that rig and thought there was a good chance it would blow I’d be on the next chopper back to land. Seems like a lot of monday morning quarterbacking going on.
When the environmentalists (aka wackos) find out that the REAL “Dick Cheney” is actually 0BAMA, I predict mass suicides.
Crony capitalist? Check.
Knew but ignored drilling safety/defects? Check.
Received $1M political campaign payoff? Check.
Cut $20B deal with top BP officials to conceal MMS/President’s pre-knowledge of possible disaster? Check.
Appointed, then fired, head of MMS (who must have KNOWN about the shortcuts and waivers for BP)? Check.
What a tangled web Omoslem has woven. One more straw on the camel’s back, and it will break.
Breitbart, where are you?
Never. He's a member of a protected minority, and has the power of the office of President, along with the Senate and Congress to protect him. And his good ole' buddy is Eric Holder.
Just getting back in here...got to go see what they are saying on the Oil Drum.
Exactly.
Not to be tin-foil, but look at the foot-dragging since day 1. Why? What is gained? Why meet with BP’s CEO for only 20 minutes unless you were already on the same page since before day 1? It makes me wonder what is coming, or what we don’t know that would make a sufficient response to the GOM disaster pointless.
Then again, s*** happens.
Now that is outstanding....
You can argue that the federal government wasn't responsible for "keeping this from happening." That ball was in BP's court.
However, it magnifies the blame on the federal government for failing to be ready to mitigate a possible blow-out. They had six weeks notice this might happen. And they did nothing!
By law, the federal government is responsible for taking charge of the clean-up operation for any oil spill. It is specifically the President's responsibility. Again, by law.
And Obama and the assorted twenty-or-so agencies who are involved have failed utterly.
Even though they had six weeks warning...
Did he meet with anyone in the White House in the first three months of 2010 when GS sold nearly half its stake in BP? Anyone else sell or short BP?
Goldman Sachs had moved BP from "neutral" to a "buy" shortly before it dumped over a quarter of a billion dollars worth of BP stock too." <<<<<
Surely this is illegal?
Thanks so much Ernest!

Good question!
“Not defending them but if Hayward knew it would blow, why didnt he order drilling stopped and safety precautions put into place?”
This is fairly old news. An internal report back in March 2010 summarized all of the problems they were having. The same month Hayward sold 1/3 of his BP stock.
Yes, it is criminal that they proceeded with the “completion” of the well against the arguements of the driller and other crew on the rig that had been living and battling this beast for months.
Is there a good way to get this up on Drudge?
It seems to me that this story if handled properly, should, in the least, kill Salazar and drop Obama five points on a permanent basis, if not drive him from office. To have a six weeks heads up on the need for contingency plan and produce this is criminal to the extent of prompting my first tagline.
Copy the title and URL and paste them into Drudge page on right side, lower down “SEND NEWS TIPS TO DRUDGE

I have found this works.

There is this:

"Two BP management officials, who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss internal matters, said budget cuts were largely the reason equipment was not upgraded or repaired, and indicated that much of it has yet to be addressed. BP's Alaska budget for 2010 is $1 billion, compared with $1.1 billion in 2009 and $1.3 billion in 2008.
Moreover, according to two BP Alaska officials, projects related to "safety and integrity" have been cut by 30 percent this year and BPs senior managers receive bonuses for not using funds from BPs designated maintenance budget, a company wide policy implemented by Hayward. Documents show that Hayward also implemented a cost-cutting directive following the oil spills in 2006 in Prudhoe Bay.

It seems as though manslaughter charges may be in order.
Who has criminal jurisdiction out there in the ocean?
