The fact is, pot in comparison to alcohol is nearly harmless.
I don’t disagree with you there.. and I am not anti-pot. Actually I’m shocked it is still illegal for anyone over 18.
I saw an outtake of the new Betty White show on TVLand this morning and in it they allude to her (the 90-year-old) in her apartment smoking pot; it was quite funny and probably thrown in because research is showing more and more OLD people are smoking pot these days.
Yes, dragnet. The so-called war on drugs will never be won because of the cognitive dissonance and hypocrisy it requires in its adherents. Alcohol IS a drug, but it’s so socially acceptable that the one attempt to prohibit it failed. Imagine if marijuana and hydrocodone pills were as socially acceptable as alchohol? Yet those substances would have fewer bad consequences on the drive home after a party than too many drinks. Pot is the whipping boy, when alcohol abuse is the substance responsible not only for many thousands of highway deaths, but also diseases and family trauma. And no, I’ve never smoked anything or even had a drink. The reason is because I’ve seen the effects of both on others in my family. Choose to believe it or not. It’s true. I used to be on the other side of this argument until someone in my family died as a result of an accident involving alcohol.
