Post of the Day

Here on FR one often sees a post that encapsulates a truth in such a clear concise and unambiguous fashion that other posters nominate it for the "Post of the Day"

The problem being that no one who doesn't happen to wander onto that thread ever sees it.

I propose a thread to gather all these pearls into a single place.

Here's the rules:

• Anyone can nominate a post of the day.

• Do NOT nominate your own post.

• Credit the author

• Copy the text of the post. (I prefer to name the author, put in a ~ and then put the actual quote in <i>italics</i>, but that's just me)

• Give the date (assuming this thread lasts more than one day!)

• Give the title of the thread and provide a link to the original posting like so: <a href=http:wwwfreerepublic.com/focus/(forum/thread #)/posts?page=(post#)#(post#)>(title of the thread)</a> where the link can be copied from the address bar after you click on the post# at the original post.

• Have fun...

There is no voting, no prizes and no wrong answers, Post of the Day is kinda like it's being run by liberals, everyone wins...

There once used to be some kind of compilation of Post of the Day.

What I love about it (as I frequently nominate posts here anyway) is that some FReeper quotes are as good as anything you will ever find in a memorable quotes book.

It might be nice to see them all together each day. Humorous, serious, all.
