Is leftist network MSNBC falling out of love with President Obama? It certainly looks like it.
Keith Olbermann, for instance, was less than impressed with Obamas BP speech. It was a great speech if you were on another planet for the last 57 days, the man who became (in)famous for doing everything in his power to discredit and disgrace conservatives said on his show yesterday. When guest Howard Fineman asked Olbermann whether he believed Obama had aimed too low, he responded: I dont think he aimed low, I dont think he aimed at all. Its startling.
A little later he quoted Obama as saying: Our determination to fight for the America we want for our children, even if were unsure exactly what that looks like, even if we dont yet know yet how were going to get there, we know we will get there. Olbermann: Its nice, but again, how? Where is the how in this speech, when the nation is crying out for how?
If you wouldnt know any better, youd almost think that its 2006, rather than 2010, and that George W. Bush instead of Obama is the president.
And Olbermann isnt the only MSNBC hack suddenly becoming critical of the man once heralded by him and his fellow leftists as a secular Messiah. Even Chris Matthews finally realizes that the thrill he felt up his leg when listening to Obama giving speeches during the 2008 campaign, was probably a stroke (h/t the Daily Caller).
I dont sense executive command, Matthews said about Obamas handling of the BP oil spill.
