“Not only is BP 39% American owned (2% away from being an American company, as BP is 40% British owned), it also has as many American directors as British directors (six each) and a Swedish chairman.
It employs 22,000 Americans, 10,000 British, and pays $4.2bn of its profits into American pension funds among other American investments.”
heard this on the news and found it on yahoo.
That’s one of the problems with being “stockholder/owner” of a company. You get the problems, along with the profits ... one way or the other, depending on whether you made a good judgment in your purchase of stock or a bad judgment.
I think a lot of people are thinking, right now, that they made a really bad judgment in getting BP ...
