It's the 21st century iteration of "China Syndrome" hysteria, and Star Traveler, you're the worst offender. Shame on you.
That's great logic there... BP acts like a criminal organization with their violations of industry protocols and standards and a humongous number of safety violations with other companies don'thave (and those other oil companies don't like it either) ... and BP causes the worst disaster for this industry for the United States and those bordering states along the Gulf of Mexico -- and so -- I'm the one to be ashamed ... LOL ...
It's just like some FReepeers to get things completely upside-down ... not the first time I've seen it here ... :-)
You might as well start blaming me for this mess, too ... yeeeooow!
The rest of the oil companies will defend their responsible actions and activities, which the evidence supports. BP's irresponsible actions are indefensible. If you like them so much, you defend their actions.
"I've heard all your arguments years ago on the heels of another industrial mishap we survived, known as Three Mile Island. All I'm hearing now is the same level of hysteria, and bomb throwing."
A friggin' mishap? That's a gross understatement. It was a partial core meltdown. Those clowns were completely at a loss as to what they were doing. You do know they waited all day, from the wee AM 'till ~3PM to discover where the leak was coming from right? A pressure relief valve was open, but they were sure it was not, because the idiot light wasn't glowing. The light was burned out and so were they. Go ahead and defend the morons.
I'd like to see the other oil companies come out ahead in this thing...ahead of all the Soros-underwritten foreign oil companies and foreign-type BP's.
I don't think it's the same as 3 mile. There's way more rhetoric out there these days from the right from FOX and other vehicles. I don't think the left wins this one...and I hope the US companies profit from it.
You havent heard any of my arguments before about 3 mile island. Im not even 30.
I do work for an oil company and I do know that BP is not considered in good standing safety wise in industry. If these companies showed solidarity behind BP, it would not slow down a push for nationalization. It would only fuel rumors of collusion and industry stonewaling. And the country gains nothing from protecting criminals to stave off socialism.
Yeah, the Soviets helped us beat the NAZIs, but then we had to deal with the Soviets.
But if it makes you feel better to argue using quotes, cliches, and pictures, go ahead.
