I guess that means she's not a professional pol.
She is actually a very attractive candidate. She is going to get national exposure now as this story plays out.
Perhaps that she isn’t politically connected. She strikes me as an amateur candidate. Earnest, but not polished in any sense and having no particular power base from which to campaign.
“...Ellmers isn’t exactly a typical high-quality candidate: She’s a nurse and county Chamber of Commerce President...”
What exactly is a “high quality” candidate?????
As a nurse myself, I find this line insulting. Is the author inferring that the candidate is somehow less qualified because she’s not a career politician or a lawyer?? This government needs some “average” citizens as representatives who can restore common sense & insight to our legislature. I for one will be sending this woman some cash.
That jumped out at me too. Somehow a nurse, a female and a Chamber of Commerce President isn’t a typical high-quality candidate - in their eyes. But a drunken politician is?? LOL
It means she didnt go to Harvard and hasnt been rubbing elbows inside the Beltway.
