I admittedly haven’t followed this story closely, so I have a question: since Greene didn’t campaign or advertise, how did the voters know he was african-american?
Yes, they would know that the white candidate was white.
Interesting that in all the newspaper articles I have seen, the papers have gone out of their way to not put together side-by-side photos of the candidates — I guess they are concerned that their readers would draw their own conclusions.
