BTW re: your other post about western sailors, many peoples around the world have achieved great sailing feats, for instance the Aboriginies of Australia, again not because they wanted to get on their own reality show, but for survival and exploration.

In the context of that day and age that was exactly what he was doing. Back then you went to royalty for money to fund your adventure and recognition when you accomplished it. Today you go to Hollywood.
