Did you have to charter a Qantas Airbus to find him then divert 3 ships to sail for 2 days to get to him? No, but the principle is the same. I spent my time and my money to rescue someone. Never occurred to me to ask for recompense.

I commend you for saving someone. Truly. And stuff happens. Mechanical systems fail.

But this girls mother admitted in a CNN interview awhile back that sailing the Indian Ocean was dangerous in winter. This expensive rescue could have been avoided. They knew it was risky.
