Following the Senates failure to curb the Environmental Protection Agencys global warming-based power grab, Americans for Prosperity President Tim Phillips released the following statement:
This is outrageous. The Senate has allowed the EPA to essentially turn itself into a super-legislature. The EPA is simply rewriting the law to suit the administrations purposes, and the Senate is unwilling to stop them.
The Obama administration can now continue pursuing an extreme global warming agenda, sending our energy prices skyrocketing and gaining sweeping regulatory control over the United States economy without passing legislation in Congress.
Sen. Jay Rockefeller got it exactly right in explaining his yes vote: The EPA can't decide. We have to. I'm elected to protect my people and my country.
Unfortunately, far too many senators refused to protect their people and the country. Every senator who voted NO voted to look the other way, to outsource legislative responsibility to the EPA, and allow that agency to run roughshod over American families and workers.
Like health care, this vote will have devastating political consequences for senators on the wrong side of their constituents. November is coming, and their constituents will not forget.

EPA needs to be dismantled brick by brick by bricks.
skyrocketing enegry costs? I’ll bet there will be subsidies for democratic demographic types.
Roughly 100 seats are “in play” this Nov.
That’s about 20% of the seats up for election.
What voter outrage?
How many of the 53 Marxist Senators are up for re-election this year?
The radicals don’t care. They know they’ll lose in November and want to inflict as much harm on the USA as possible.
Not negotiating on carbon reduction is turning out as bad as not negotiating on health care.
Bull!
No way 3 rinos should have gone bad on this bill.
This 50/50 vote was the easiest chance to rein in this idiotic climate/EPA crap.
Now we’re gonna be talking watered down crap and tax - on the heels of the BP emotions. There is NOTHING about climate change/carbon taxes or any variation thereof that should see the light of day. The whole thing is climatic voodoo pap.
Remember in Novenber.
Who voted for this POS.
What 3 Republican Senators voted for this crap?
Give me some names.
The legislators don’t write the bills, they don’t read the bills and they don’t oversee any regulations... why do we need these guys again?
All 41 GOPers and 6 dems voted for the legislation. 53 dems voted against.
Thanks - I stand corrected.
They all have to go.........every incumbent.
“EPA needs to be dismantled brick by brick by bricks.”
I don’t completely agree - this place would look like a combination of Chernobyl and Bhopal by now without them - but they need to be rolled back to their original mission, (which was successful), and need to be staffed to maintaining that original mission.
“What 3 Republican Senators voted for this crap?

None. 41 R and 6 D.
