I've seen it. In fact I've done it. The shock wears off quickly, more so for some than others.
There is another effect, might be especialy strong for a young girl, and that is not wanting to make a scene.
In this case, someone thought the charge credibile enough to file it.
Dozens? Must not have had too much of a problem with it initially...
Perhaps the images were thumbnail size, so that a dozen or more may have fit on the screen. Alternately, the pictures may have started out somewhat tame (let's say equivalent to PG-13) but then went to R and finally to XXX.
Can somebody tell me how this is any different to what Bill Clinton did to Paula Jones, Jaunita Broaddrick, Kathleen Willey etc?

Could very well be. Years ago in Delaware we had the case of an optometrist who would take out his penis and place it into the hands of women who were looking into the device they use to check your vision. He did it dozens of times until two of the women, who were acquaintances, got together and started talking about their experience. It appears that no one wanted to "make a scene" and that's how he managed to get away with it for so long.
Sometimes we get scared. And don’t know how to respond, or move.
Some see young women as all trashy hardened manipulators, but you know, some are not. You may find this hard to believe, but when young women are assaulted, if they are the naive and/or innocent type, they sometimes just go blank.
Yes, it is embarrassing to have someone do that to you.
From indecent exposure all the way to rape, a lot of sex crimes are unreported for a variety of reasons.

Yes, but don't get me wrong: minus physical coercion, an adult woman has a responsibility and a duty to resist that kind of thing. It doesn't excuse the perp, but failure to act doesn't ennoble the victim.

She left after about 12 pics (thumbnails? progressively worse? I don’t know), she didn’t go anywhere with him, she reported it to the police after thinking about it for a while.
Myself, I’d be afraid to report this just because I wouldn’t want a weirdo mad at me. If convicted he wouldn’t get much of a penalty, and then I’d be stuck at a school with a weirdo with an agenda.
I’d have to think about it, too. Honestly I don’t know if I’d have turned him in. Maybe if there was a tension in the room like he was going to get physical.

So this girl is a college student so this did not involve a minor? Then I have to think that this is a he said she said? Is she one of those females who gets really bent out of shape about porn?I wonder if he just wasn't using their wifi for free while browing online and she saw what he was looking at and was offended and decided he'd "assaulted" her later? Charges like these are really stupid IMHO because they devalue what real sexual assault means. I'm female BTW.
If someone did that to me I would not make a scene but I would make him scream really loud so everyone could hear and when they ran in I’d be sure to let them know exactly what he had done and why he was screaming! :)
I think that's precisely the thing that ought to be done.
