Alvin Greene , the surprise South Carolina Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, was kicked out of the Army last year and is facing a pending felony charge, according to court records obtained by ABC News.
Greene, who has yet to enter a plea or be indicted, was arrested in November and charged with "disseminating, procurring or promoting obsenity" in Richland County, S.C., near the University of South Carolina. He faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
Earlier today, the 32-year-old military veteran told ABC News that he has been unemployed and living in his rural hometown 60 miles south of Columbia since August, when he was involuntarily forced out of the Army after a 13 year career because "things just weren't working
it was hard to say."

snicker
I think he should be a man and stay in the race.
Yeah, that’s the ticket.
So? Typical Democrat
Was that picture his booking picture?
Perhaps the turnout in the Democrat primary was similar to the turnout in the Democrat primaries of 2008?
If this guy should get elected in November (if he's on the ballot) the socialist Democrat Party would fight to the death to keep him seated.
Sounds like he's well qualified for the U.S. Senate. Maybe even a leadership position.
How did this guy get any votes, let alone win the Democrat primary?
you need a criminal heart as prerequisite to be a democrat
you need a business heart as prerequisite to be a republican
Looks like Jim Demint is going to save himself a lot of campaign cash.
He didn’t campaign. His opponent never met him, so he never took him seriously enough to label him. He claims he traveled around meeting people. Something sure worked for him. (No ads. No website. No office. No staff. No literature or signs.)
Meanwhile the SC dem party blames his 59% victory orver Rawls as just voters that voted in alphabetical order - picking “G” over “R”
WHO Knew ...?
Nothing to see here folks, just a god ole ‘DemonRAT’ (psss... all his troubles were caused by George Bush)
He would fit right in with the party of Rangel, Alcee Hastings, Tax-Guy Geitner and Nan Pelosi.
Commenters already have the campaign slogan ....
“you’ve still got to admire the man. with 13 years served in the military prior to getting the boot, he has more time served than all three of our past presidents combined! come on south carolina - send him to congress. look, this is a little guy, a common man and, if he’s going to defraud you and misrepresent you, wouldn’t you rather have it done by someone like that, instead of some trust-fund #### who probably doesn’t need the money anyway? do the right thing, s.c., and send an ordinary crook to congress, instead of an elitist crook.”
This is TOO Funny!!! Kinda shows you the depth of unhappiness with incumbents, especially DemocRATS. The candidate that lost burned up a whole lotta money for nothing!
Was it name recognition that made them put the Greene lever???
Welcoming back SC into the RED Zone!
This is a plus to the democrats! His poll numbers go up!
so this is a guy that would not be able to get a job or a clearance in the govt. yet he can make the laws of this country. go figure.
At first I thought the details of Jean Kerry's military record had finally come to light.
“Daily kos is explaining it away as he being a Republican plant....”
OF COURSE! He was in the MILITARY! He must be Republican! (/s)
Yeah, guys with no money in their campaign who are unemployed are ALWAYS GOP plants.
(Geez, what a bunch of leftards they are, they had a very BAD day yesterday and are desperately spinning.)
