Fickle oil spill scatters its threats across Gulf

Oil from the BP spill is slathering some areas in a tarry mess while leaving others unscathed, even as a device collects more and more crude gushing from the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico. The recently installed containment cap on the stricken BP wellhead is helping to limit the leak, collecting more than 620,000 gallons of oil Monday, Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen said Tuesday in Washington. Authorities had reported that around 460,000 gallons were collected Sunday. It's unclear, though, how much oil is still escaping, and underwater video feeds continue to show a dark geyser. BP announced plans recently to swap out the current cap with a bigger one next month that can capture more oil. "I have never said this is going well," said Allen, who's monitoring the response effort for the government. "We're throwing everything at it that we've got. I've said time and time again that nothing good happens when oil is on the water." Officials have said that initial cleanup of the BP spill could take months and that the spill's effects could linger for years. Tests have confirmed plumes of oil in low concentrations as far as 3,300 feet below the surface more than 40 miles northeast of the well site, NOAA Administrator Jane Lubchenco said Tuesday. And as the surface oil patches dance unpredictably from coastline to coastline, residents who depend on tourism and fishing are wondering how to head off the damage or salvage a season that's nearing its peak.

Also remember, that revelation happens AFTER the first anger which calls to burn the third of the trees and a third of the vegetation and the grass are burned. That has not happened yet-would be pretty hard to miss actually. It is a little surprising that people who call this the second revelation forget that. And also, remember the little detail about Jesus returning to take the true Christians, whoever those maybe, to heaven leaving people like Obama’s brainwashed followers to endure those tribulations.

As far as the magnitude of it goes, I feel your great pain about it and I have been praying to Lord daily for weeks that this gets resolved to save the livlihoods of people in LA, MI, AL and FL. Obama and his cabinet, and many BP execs-yes, I am including people associated with BP less anyone get the impression I am a blind apologist for them-will ignore them as they are simple God fearing people with their loyalties to God, country and family. The government could not really care less if they lose their way of life forever, only if it significantly affects people NY and Mass, the privileged quasi socialists, will they ever really care.

And don’t underestimate the natural world’s resiliance like some people do. Recall the Ixtoc that lasted for nine months or the Persian Gulf spill that released 11 million barrels in it-the Mocando field leakign now doesn’t have nearly enough oil to do that kind of damage. And both bodies of water eventually made full recovery, though admittedly it was long and very hard for the Persian Gulf. So like said before, keep confidence up, people will suffer needlessly a lot for this, but the earth will bounce back.

And while I am well aware of the sliminess of many people high on the corporate ladder of BP, and there are many people there I don’t trust an inch, I would still taker with a lot of salt notions that they are underestimating the amount coming out by factors of 10 or 2o and that 100,000 bpd or more are coming out. Posters here who know about fluid dynamics could explain why that is not possible. I am sure there are numerous things they have lied about, but there is no real incentive for them to insist the numbers are that much lower when they really aren’t-they are facing endless lawsuits and possible manslaughter charges given our litigious climate and so if they were caught saying the spill is something like 20,000 bpd when it is really 120,000 bpd, that would cripple their livlihoods forever. Not to trivialize the disastrous things that have happened to people our government cares nothing about, but remember that the scientists predicting the death of all the oceans and the whole GoM forever have just as much an agenda as BP does.

And while their executives have been largely terrible, it must be noted their engineers and workers have done an incredible job so far progressing on how to control it, making decisions and implementing the kinds of methods that can take months to deploy in a matter of days. I do think God as been with them as they have tried to create solutions while dealing with an impatient public and a beyond clueless gov’t getting in their way.
