We know that his family, wives and kids, and his inner circle were given refuge in Iran. So its not a stretch to imagine he also is there. And we have seen press reports of his sons coming and going from there, and a daughter who supposedly was trying to get out.
So that has been one of my two guesses right along, that he was either in Iran, or in a family villa in Saudi Arabia, maybe on the Red Sea near the Yemen border. I doubt seriously (assuming he is alive) that he is in the war zone where the predators can get at him.
The former assumes he is under Iranian government protection. The latter assumes he is under Saudi protection. Not impossible, considering that the Sauds are not necessarily a monolith united against muslim terror. I suspect he has royal support still.

If OBL is in Yemen, he is Saudi protected by default. Iran would be far too fantastic, it is a trap...
