As far as socialist countries go, the Germans are to be admired. The Germans seem to be able to tell the unions, "This far and no more", thus limiting the negative redistributive fiscal harm.
European socialism = the state decides who gets to participate in the capitalist system and how far they go.
There is always the problem of these commies wanting to export their ideology.
The EU wasted no time making war on Yugoslavia, forcing nationalist parties to kowtow, forcing Eastern European countries into the EU.
There is little to be admired in the EUrotopia Union as a whole.
Where there is no God, there are no morals. There can be no viable civilization.

I would agree. The EU socialist experiment is running out of steam. As someone one once said the behavior that democracies prefer to practice is not the behavior that preserves democracies. I think Europe will see very chaotic days ahead.
