Yeah, but that's from 1999. I knew he had some financial problems back then, but this last decade he has been perennially on the list of the highest earning entertainers, some years even in the top 10.

That was before the Red Piano, before that two year tour with Billy Joel and before the Lion King musical, which is still running to sold-out audiences on Broadway and tours across the globe.

Okay OldDeckHand, I’ll pose you a query. Lets say you had a large sum of money, significant monthly expenses, some sort of entertainment ability, and were offered $1M to perform at... Alec Baldwin’s wedding. You turning it down?

To me, this is a no brainer. Even if you’re morally opposed, you take Alec’s money and then donate it to a cause he despises. Its a win win all around. Maybe ol’ Elton has the same view.
