Red and Black Cafe? I know what the Red and Black colors are for (communism, anarcho-socialism at best.)
I thought the colors referred to Le Rouge et Le Noir, Stendhal's novel.
The Red and the Black: "The title apparently refers to both the tensions in [protagonist Julien] Sorel's character and to the conflicting choice he is faced with in his quest for success: the army (symbolized by the color red) or the church (symbolized by the color black)."
