Give them just enough time to rest up, learn some new tricks, get a haircut, physical, get a little dental work done and make new connections on the inside.

In the federal system you have to be in front of the judge within 48 hours. By getting them to plead to the immigration charges it takes the pressure off the AUSA to file the charges or worry about some judge bailing the guys out.

I still can't believe that these two criminals were only sentenced to 10 and 45 days. They were obviously involved in serious criminal activity.
