One guy gets a hit negated, the next batter gets an out negated and the pitcher gets a perfect game, which he actually earned. It would be more interesting to award him a perfect game while leaving the hit on the record.
It would create a great new trivia question. "Who is the only play ever to get a hit in a game where the opposing pitcher threw a perfect game?"

I don't see how you can award a hit based on a blown call. Even Ty Cobb had one of his hits taken away from him posthumously.

I disagree. Give both batters their earned result, both recorded as outs counting against their batting average. The trivia question would read “Who was the only pitcher to pitch a 28 out perfect game in 2011?”
