no formal offer was ever made. DRIVER: Officer, what would it take money wise, to hypothetically not write that traffic ticket I'm about to perhaps get?

Nothing to see here. Move along. Happens all the time. Just politics. Reagan did it all the time, no big deal.

These officials declined to specify the job that was floated or the name of the administration official who approached Romanoff, and said no formal offer was ever made.UNNAMED ADMINISTRATION OFFICIAL: Suppose hypothetically, of course, that you drop out of the race and a few days later, you are offered a high level position in the State Department. Is that something that you might be interested in?
ROMANOFF: Is the White House offering me a job to quit the race?
UNNAMED ADMINISTRATION OFFICIAL: That's not what I said [wink, wink].

In this Feb. 18, 2010, file photo, President Barack Obama greets Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., right, before speaking at a fundraiser for Bennet in Denver. White House administration officials dangled the possibility of a job for former Colorado House Speaker Andrew Romanoff last year in hopes he would forego a challenge to Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet

“no formal offer was ever made.”
Just because it wasn’t in writing doesn’t mean it wasn’t an offer.

Maybe some reporter will actually start to dig into this ‘pattern’ of Obama to try to eliminate the politifcal competition using dirty tricks and threats, dating all the way back to his own first election in Illinois. I think someone needs to look under those Blago rocks more thoroughly now, too. Don’t tell me he wasn’t up there making deals for his Senate seat—clearly his pattern indicates so, and Gibbs and others in this administration say it’s done all the time—so they’re admitting it!
I now wonder what they did (or tried to do) to poor Hillary...if only everyone who ever got promised or threatened about anything and everything, (including threats for votes) this might actually have some traction and result in his impeachment.
Alas, I don’t have much faith in our current pack of reporters.
