It looks like the incubment Parker Griffith is headed for defeat. He’s the U.S. House Representative that was voted in as a Democrat in 2008, but switched to the GOP last year.

Precincts Reporting: 284 Of 326 87% (AL-5th CD-GOP Primary)

(R) Mo Brooks 32,837 51%
(R) Parker Griffith 21,501 33% (incubment)
(R) Les Phillip 10,055 16%

I hope Griffith gets trounced. Serves notice to Democrats that you can’t just switch to Republican to save your political hide.

That’s not really a good thing. I think Brooks is electable but it will be a far tougher race than Griffith-anyone else would have been.

Brooks is not really well known outside of Huntsville and Raby could concievably run against a certain neighborhood in Huntsville that is viewed as snotty (and a base of Brooks support) in the moral rural, still Dixiecrat areas of the district like Jackson, the Shoals and Lawrence.
