President Obama intends to meet with Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer on Thursday, a White House official told FoxNews.com, after criticism mounted over the president's refusal to meet her while she is in Washington this week.
Brewer had requested a face-to-face meeting with Obama and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, the former Arizona governor, as tensions rise between his administration and the Grand Canyon State over its controversial law clamping down on illegal immigrants.
White House spokesman Adam Abrams had said over the weekend that Obama's schedule "doesn't allow for a meeting" with Brewer but added that the president "does intend to sit down with the governor in the future."
The apparent snub came after Justice Department officials told Arizona's attorney general and aides to the governor Friday that the federal government has serious reservations about the state's new immigration law.

I love your analogy!
If he has read it, then it’s worse than I thought. Apparently we have a president (the most brilliant man EVER) who is not capable of basic 10th grade level reading comprehension.
Sissy boy caves to Brewer.
Maybe they could just have a tea summit.
He’ll chew her up for a photo op...Hope she’s ready.
The only thing more cowardly than not meeting her would be to initially decline to and then buckle under pressure.
This tone deaf SOB is simply responding to his critics and not to the issue at hand.
I hope Brewer holds her guard. I don’t think Obama vs. Anyone Republican results in many losses for Obama. I fear a Brewer compromise followed by something similar to a Gingrich/Pelosi couch date 2 years from now.
The list, ping
Think Zero will bow before her?
Funny you should mention that. Remember how Obama mocked President Bush for encouraging him to use Purell after shaking hands with alot of people?
Michelle Obama in Reno today:
First, let me begin by apologizing because I have a cold that I caught from this wonderful husband of mine. So forgive my voice and my dryness and all that good stuff. And when I come around to shake hands, there will be somebody following with Purell. Because you all have a lot of work to do and we can't afford for any of you to be sick."
Do you think it possibly could have anything to do with the 9th Circuit upholding state rights in a ruling I read about today?
And how about the State of New York going to furlough a whole bunch of state employees. Now, if the Feds could just get the idea that they could go a long way toward reducing deficit spending if they’d start terminating some of those nonsense positions. I mean, after all, if the bureaucrats have time to sit around and watch porn or baseball or basketball games on the public taxpayer’s dime, then they obviously don’t have enough to do. Truth is, we could probably get by with about half the bureaucrats who are there.
Such a projection of weakness for Obama. He won’t meet with her because it is the right thing to do, only because of political pressure..
Wimp....
You got it.
My money is on that she doesn't take the bribe.
...that none of them had read!
POTUS acting stupidly!...again!!!
This guy is a mega-wimp. He keeps drawing lines in the sand, and when criticism mounts—not infrequently led by Palin—he recapitulates faster than Graham jumping in front of a camera. It’s actually entertaining.
Ping!
