WASHINGTON — Film director James Cameron may have another blockbuster on his hands.
Federal officials are hoping Cameron can help them come up with ideas on how to stop the disastrous oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, officials said today.
The “Avatar” and “Titanic” director was among a group of scientists and other experts who met Tuesday with officials from the Environmental Protection Agency and other federal agencies for a brainstorming session on stopping the massive oil leak.
The Canadian-born Cameron is considered an expert on underwater filming and remote vehicle technologies. “Avatar” and “Titanic” are the two highest-grossing films of all time.

Sometimes you just have to think outside the box. Nothing else they've tried has worked yet.
I heard on the news today that some Gulf states are asking the federal approval to do some oil containment measures and have not gotten much response.
The states ought to just tell the feds to stuff it and do what they have to to protect their coasts and worry about the feds reactions later.
Likely the feds would only take credit for the states actions anyway. It’s well past time to stand up to that America destroying juggenaut that’s passing itself off as our government.
Because it would actually fix the problem and we can’t have that, now can we.
It’d take away all reason to implement more draconian, totalitarian policies to ruin the country.
You can’t let a good crisis go to waste, you know.

FNC was reporting that Cameron has an engineering degree. That may be but so do hundreds of thousands of other engineers in US. Maybe he’ll send some Na’vis down at the bottom of the ocean ....

James Cameron’s probably the best the left has to offer for this problem - and not only does he know something about the situation, he’s also a natural leader. This crisis is begging for a leader... I have no idea why he was turned down.
Especially since now he’s said he wants yo use his camera’s to document the illegal acts of BP...

I can’t think of a liberal leader, period, so I can’t think of one I’d prefer. It’s like asking me, as a Christian to choose a Satanist I’d choose as a leader, it makes no sense to me.
