“mostly hype indeed. Don’t live in south louisiana do you?”

Do you racall the photos from the Exxon spill in Alaska? Looked pretty ugly.

The area is fine now...nature can heal...no one is saying that any of this is good....just that, as always, the eco-fear mongers will exaggerate.

The eco-fear mongers said it would take “10 years” to put of the fires in Kuwaitt that Saddam started...they said the region would take 100 years to recover....it is fine now.

The mongers said that the Alaskan pipeline would “decimate” the wild populations...the OPPOSITE happened.

long term health impact for residents of south louisiana, and changes in incrementally detrimental health issues caused by eating seafood after fedgov says its ok are not accounted for in your comments. many people consider health an important issue, at least when it is their own family who is eating the food which fedgov will be letting return to the market at some point.

Wild animals do not suffer economic consequences the way inhabited coastlines do.

additionally, it is unlikely you are in full possession of all available information on this spill, and it is very unlikely all factual data bp has which would be viewed negatively has been released.

As far as how big a deal this spill is for the nearby coastlines in terms of fishing and habitation, in any event we will be finding out in the coming years.
