Well, you are reading the leftist, spelling challenged Guardian, which explains why they did not mention that the dispersant used does NOT [per all lab and field tests to date] mess up the hormonal system of aquatic life, unlike some of the other choices.

From what I have read- which could be inaccurate or I misinterpreted] this dispersant appeared to be the best choice. It is also EPA approved. And was available in sufficient quantity.

Nicotine is highly toxic, too. But most of us avoid large concentrations and manage to live.

EPA approved. Thats supposed to be reassuring?

Too bad the sealife in the gulf won`t be able to avoid the chemicals, with God knows what damage will be done to them and their offspring.
