Wasn’t Clintons’ lawyer the one that was originally looking into all this for the Clintons when Hillary was running against Barack? I thought they were the ones who actually started the whole investigation of Obama’s birth place, etc. passport, etc.

It’s a matter of who’s FBI files out-trump the other when the time is right.
I suspect that Democrats try to subtly troll the "birthers" to get them stirred up so that they're more visible and thus more effective at making conservatives in general look silly.
