A top Department of Homeland Security official reportedly said his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona authorities.
John Morton, assistant secretary of homeland security for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, made the comment during a meeting on Wednesday with the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune, the newspaper reports. "I don't think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution," Morton told the newspaper. The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, he said, and not a patchwork of state laws. The law, which criminalizes being in the state illegally and requires authorities to check suspects for immigration status, is not "good government," Morton said.

The Feds aren’t doing their job, so why the hell should we listen to them? All you do is piss and moan about everything that can’t be done, but you have nothing constructive to add. Why are you here?

For thingy for sure. I’m supporting Romley for Co Atty and voting for anyone who is running against Joe Arpaio for Sheriff and against anyone who might run against Thomas for AG in the primary and/or general.
The Feds have their problems but so does AZ.
Oh and I voted for McCain for the Pres who my guess is would have shown more leadership than Obama.

How many other state and federal laws are up for discretionary enforcement by the current socialist government of the USA? This Morton guy was at least honest about the intention of the occupiers of our govt to continue to rule as they please, citizenry be damned. I wonder if they really are pushing for serious confrontation or are just so arrogant that they think they can continue to wear us down, day by day, without consequence to themselves, until we have no power to resist their complete dominance of our lives and country? Either way, American Exceptionalism is alive and well and should not be underestimated by Obama and company. If the RATS think they can facilitate the Obama agenda by flooding this country with illegal immigrants they have it wrong. Resistance to Obama intimidation of the electorate is growing and self preservation will eventually become a factor even for those citizens who just go along to get along.

Since the federal govt is refusing to enforce the law; Arizona should take THEM to court.

After ICE refused to help the sheriff here in Missouri ... I definitely see a pattern forming here. Pres Obama lost Missouri to McCain right?
McCain carried Missouri by 3,903 votes out of a total of almost 3 million.

Since Arizona was a Confederate territory and the South never offically surrendered. It should just declare it’s independence. Besides the Federal goverment does not have a constitutionally elected President ( article 2) and therefore has no legal right to make demands on Arizona.

Sheriff Joe tends to put prisoners in pink underwear. Someone around here probably is not so Pretty in Pink. Thus the dislike of the good Sheriff.
