But the event was cancelled, along with a so-called Gender Bender day when students would dress up as the opposite sex, according to student organizer Lexi Saffel.

Gender bender days scheduled into the curriculum. Wonder why those test scores keep falling.

The students were warned they would face consequences if they showed up at school dressed in the opposite gender's clothing, said Saffel.

Is there “opposite gender clothing” for women? It seems only males would face consequences.

Unless this is a Uniformed school, there may be problems.

Don’t Canadian schools routinely permit ladies in trousers and shirts ? This was the point I made in the lesbian prom and tuxedo thread. When trousers have for a century been accepted ladies clothing, it’s difficult to make a case to threaten students who wear them now.

Back in the day, these students would have faced consequences at my high school - and not from the teachers or administrators!
