An intact pair of 'torpedo propellers recovered, engraving style analyzed ... U.S. and Australian experts also agree
(Torpedo) exploded 3 meters under the turbine room... Cheonan's lost engine room found
Government source said on May 18, "Cheonan was sunk by a torpedo and we found a smoking gun that proves that it is made in N. Korea, after intensive investigation in recent days by civilian-military team."
The investigation team recently recovered relatively intact torpedo propellers on the sea bottom where Cheonan went down. They analyzed the serial number engraved on the propellers and concluded that it is in N. Korean typeface and engraving style. The government sources said, "Experts from other countries such as U.S. and Australia also agree that the torpedo was made in N. Korea based on the analysis on propellers serial number. This is conclusive evidence, coming after finding of torpedo debris and explosive trace."

I think the ROK should just send in “the team” and get it over with. Too much public posturing on this. DPRK knows EXACTLY what they did.

Too bad the SoKo government isn’t going to do squat about it. What L’il Kim needs is a good ass kicking. What he’ll get is a sternly worded letter.

I am of the mind that North Korea actually WANTS a big stink. Il is ill, and he might want an international incident to quell any possible uprisings (within the NK army, for instance) during the transition.

I think this is shaping up as an event on a par with ‘76 Axe-Murder in terms of seriousness.

I had a talk one night with a FReeper who was on the USS Midway when they got scrambled to support Operation Paul Bunyan. I’ll have to look up who it was again.

This probably answers the questions about the sudden departure of a top general in NK. Even if the Great Leader planned this the general could be a sacrificial lamb.
