We have traffic stops in my county all the time that nab illegals driving. Most of the time the car is legally purchased, tagged and insured. Those are things that don’t require proof of citizenship. What normally gets them in trouble is no Georgia driver’s license. That is much harder to obtain, you have to provide proof of residence and a social security number. The outrage is that SOP is to give them a ticket and send them on their way. When asked why the Sheriff said that the jails would be filled to overflowing within a day or two and ICE doesn’t show up to take them away. That is essentially the same argument the police in /arizona that don’t support the new law use, they just don’t have anywhere to put them.

OK, I'll bite. How do they get insurance without a DL? In my state you cant even register your car without legal ID.

In other words, if 10% of the population suddenly decide to kill someone they will get no prison time at all. That's certainly welcome news to gangs and illegals, they are at 10% already.
