I’m convinced that Laura saved her husband’s Presidency after his first debate with Kerry back in ‘04. George had just returned from reviewing Katrina damage and was not ready for the debate, which Kerry won handily.

Katrina was in 2005. I believe that was the debate the cameras kept showing the frustration of Bush as Kerry was talking after there was an agreement they wouldn't do this.

You're right, of course. ...What was going on in 2004 that pre-occuppied Bush so? I seem to remember he was visiting some place just before the debate. Maybe storm damage in Florida???
