Holder's Got To Go 05/14/2010

Competence: Stumbling from one gaffe to another and showing little appreciation for our Constitution, Attorney General Eric Holder has become a major embarrassment. Time to admit he's in over his head and let him go.

We were never big fans of the AG, but like many others, we had hoped our misgivings were wrong and that he'd be successful as the nation's top law enforcement officer. Sorry to say, he hasn't been.

Events in recent days and weeks show that Holder has little if any understanding of our nation's most precious asset, the Constitution, and seems oblivious to the actual requirements of his job.

An appearance before the House Judiciary Committee last week illustrates the problem. Holder told the panel that Justice Department decisions "are done in a political way." Thanks for the honesty, but that's not what the job requires.

This may explain why Holder could question whether Arizona's new law on illegal immigrants is "unconstitutional" and imply that those who drafted the bill were racist, and, in the next breath, admit that he hadn't even read the 17-page bill.

If he took the time to read it, he'd discover that Arizona's measure basically takes existing U.S. federal law and makes it state law too. Is the federal law unconstitutional as well?

By the way, the only reason Arizona felt the need for such a law was that the U.S. Justice Department — which Holder heads — refuses to enforce U.S. law as written. The state's porous border has become a major source of drug and human trafficking, kidnapping, murder and other crimes. In short, Arizona had no choice.

Of equal concern, Holder seems to treat the War on Terror (yes, we still use and capitalize the term) as a joke.

Holder is the AG because Obama, and everyone else in his administration all think the same thing. And that goes for Hillary Clintoon also

I cant put Hillary in the same category as Holder. Hillary is an extremely smart individual who would have read the bill before talking about it.

I dont see the proper diligence or the same level of competence in Holder.

Negligent Retention, anyone? If Holder goes he needs to take his boss with him. There is no difference. Incompetent Communist wanna-bee’s need to leave office and take their fellow travelers in the Unions with them.

Statement: "Holder's Got To Go [Where Is The Republican Leadership On This?]"

Response: Firstly, WHAT REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP!! Secondly, isn't Holder the clown that was involved in some shady deal: i.e. a money for pardon scheme? As for the rest of it his incompetence is obvious as is that of his master.

Holder is an intelligent guy and he knows exactly what he’s doing.

The flap over his not having read the AZ law is ridiculous. Holder is an executive. He has staff to read laws, rulings, etc. His staff reports to him the 5% he needs to know and makes recommendations. He makes decisions. In the AZ situation all he needed to know was that the Obama Administration will use it as a wedge issue to further divide America. He decided that the AG will argue that the AZ law is illegal because it is the best way to exploit this situation in the interests of the Obama Administration.

You can argue your position till you’re blue in the face. Nobody in the Obama Administration gives a damn about what the IBD, IBD readers, or you think about any issue, not matter how well-reasoned. Obama just wants you all to shut up: “I don’t want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don’t mind cleaning up after them, but don’t do a lot of talking.”

Holder is the perfect AG for the Obama Administration. His actions and pronouncements are perfectly calculated to advance the interests of socialism without triggering alarm among the ignorant and apathetic masses, appease the radicals in Obama’s base, and drive right-thinking people bat-sh1t crazy.

Perhaps we’ll get one after November after culling RINOs.

“...remember what an incompetent Obama is.”

.
We are deluding ourselves when we think that Obama is an incompetent fool just because he does not do that which we would like for him to accomplish.

Obama is rapidly destroying this nation and that is exactly his agenda. He is very effective in what he is trying to accomplish. The fact that he is still getting away with not identifying himself shows that he has matters well in hand. Admittedly he has plenty of support from our congresscritters.

You raise an odd point about Obama.

He is both extremely effective at the destruction of the country while at the same time demonstrating a complete incompetence as a manager, leader, and human being.

I don't know how such an incompetent BOOB can so effectively destroy a nation, but he seems able to manage it (must be the blind support of the media that makes it possible...or the fact that he has the support of dark forces hailing directly from the Pits of Hell!;-)

One other possible answer is that Obama is merely a front for a very effective behind-the-scenes puppeteer.

"I cant put Hillary in the same category as Holder. Hillary is an extremely smart individual who would have read the bill before talking about it. "

Why is the myth of Hillary being an "extremely smart individual" continuously being touted and on Free Republic no less? The only difference between Hillary and Holder in this case is Hillary would have lied and said she read the bill.

Her limited forays in the spotlight as Sec. of State tells me that she is in way over her head and is nothing more than a political viper. She couldn't hold a candle to Condi Rice and if she underwent the same scrutiny, she would surely unravel and make a spectacle of herself.
