“Pissant and many others are here to promote conservative values. We are not here to advance partisan interests.”
First, pissant is here to promote his Falcon Party of 67 members.
Secondly, we are conservatives first here on FR.
However, the GOP is the Party by which conservatives are elected.
In liberal states like Mass. and Ca., you are not going to get the ideal conservative. But you can get candidates that have primarily conservative beliefs.
Scott Brown is the prime example in Mass. That was and is a crucial Senate seat for we conservatives.
Reagan knew you had to build a coalition by electing Republicans in the Senate and House. Without that, it’s very hard to govern as a conservative.
So, though we are conservatives primarily, the reality is that the GOP is our conduit to the WhiteHouse and the Majority.
We ARE conservatives!!
We do not support this bullshit:
** In California, McCains PAC supports former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina a celebrity name with deep pockets of her own, massive media exposure, and a checkered business record. Fiorina served as the economic adviser to McCain, who supported the $700 billion TARP bailout, the $25 billion auto bailout, a $300 billion mortgage bailout, and the first $85 billion AIG bailout. As GOP rival and grass-roots-supported Chuck DeVores camp notes, Fiorina has also vacillated publicly over the Obama stimulus. With taxpayer friends like this, who needs Democrats?
Hey genius. This is the PRIMARY. This is the time to fight like hell for conservatives, not surrender to the same tired arguments of “we need the RINOS”.
And once again, I said time and again that if the GOP nominated Rudy McRomeny in 2008, we would get crushed. And remind me what happened again??
First, pissant is here to promote his Falcon Party of 67 members.
Does he get a free car to drive, too ... LOL ... just wondering ... :-)
But, "67 members" ... now that's a "force to contend with" isn't it ...
Pissant has ALWAYS promoted rock-ribbed Reagan Conservatism here, and I dare say he always will. His position remains unchanged since before the Falcon Party, and therefore, your comment is disingenuous.
Secondly, we are conservatives first here on FR.
And no one is more "Conservative first" than pissant.
However, the GOP is the Party by which conservatives are elected.
That is no longer true.
My reality is that I don't vote for candidates that I don't want to occupy the office. I always vote. I don't ever hold my nose and vote.
My reality is that political philosophy trumps partisan affiliation. Party does not matter. Party is not an allegiance.
All politics are local. With rare exception, national representatives held local or state wide office prior to their aspiration to emerge onto the national scene. The grass roots are the incubators. The grass roots are where this forum aims.
Conservatives who aim to worm they way into the White House through a partisan conduit are on a fools errand.
The futility of the logic is best demonstrated by a recent disaster: An angry little white man manipulated the partisan system, emerged as an artificial plurality candidate, browbeat his bewildered partisan base and received a paltry few votes when the electorate, across the political spectrum, was yearning for substantive leadership. The angry little man continued to muddle and the electorate cast their fate with the better sound bite; the Magic Negro, a slick, Chi-town hustler.
