Conservative gives the candidate he backs in California an ultimatum [Get moving DeVore]

(CNN) – A prominent conservative is issuing an ultimatum, essentially telling the candidate he supports to do better in the polls – or lose his support.

Erick Erickson, editor-in-chief of RedState.com, backs Assemblyman Chuck DeVore in the California Republican senate primary. DeVore is locked in a battle with former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina and former Rep. Tom Campbell for the right to face Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer in November.

Speaking Tuesday with CNN Chief National Correspondent John King, Erickson – a CNN contributor - said he won't support DeVore much longer if the candidate does not improve his political standing.

"Look, if Chuck DeVore hasn't gone up in the polls within two weeks significantly, I'll be with Carly Fiorina because Tom Campbell is that bad," Erickson said.

Well considering that Sarah Palin endorses Carly Fiorina, that doesn’t help him. And then my two US Senators in the State of Oklahoma also endorse Carly Fiorina, that doesn’t help him.

But, there are reasons why they have done that. It’s not that they are RINOs backing a RINO... LOL ... but that they see Carly Fiorina as the right person to beat Boxer and definitely not Campbell, while DeVore is just plain “out of the running” no matter what they (Palin, Inhofe, Coburn) could do or say ...

B/S. Boob McCain, er, Fiorina is as bad as Boxer. No thanks! I’ll be voting for DeVore, the ONLY conservative in the race.

I couldn’t care less if Tom Campbell beats Fiorina either. Two sides of the same RINO

Better get on a plane and fly to CA. then and really put some muscle into it.

Now that you are channeling Allahpundit, you have really stepped up in class.

It’s not news that you would be satisfied to have Boxer win.

That’s like saying since I said in 2007 and 2008 that McCain will lose to the boy marxist I wanted the boy marxist as president. Are you retarded?

The Packards Want Carly Fiorina to Pack It In

“If Ms. Fiorina is what passes for conservative in Washington today, then the establishment has veered sadly to the left,” writes Arianna Packard, grand daughter of David Packard, the co-founder of HP, in a letter RedState has obtained a copy of.

Back at the turn of the 21st century, David Woodley Packard, the son of the founder, went to war against Carly Fiorina over the HP-Compaq merger. Vanity Fair documented the merger wars. It was not pretty. Both the Hewletts and the Packards opposed the merger.

The bitterness from the merger wars lingers on.

Ms. Packard’s letter, written to Senators Inhofe, Coburn, and Kyl relating to their endorsement of Carly Fiorina, makes for interesting reading and signals that the heirs of HP intend to take her down. They lost once and they don’t want to lose again.

“I know a little bit about Carly Fiorina, having watched her almost destroy the company my grandfather founded. So, allow me to disillusion you of a few of your stated reasons for supporting her,” Ms. Packard writes before detailing, rather unflatteringly, Carly Fiorina’s tenure at Hewlett-Packard.

You can read the whole letter here. Game on in California. This comes on the heels of Carly Fiorina losing the California Republican Assembly’s endorsement by a 2/3 vote despite receiving Coburn, Inhofe, and Kyl’s letter supporting her.

At this point, supporting that failure DeVore is the same as supporting Boxer for re-election in November. Enjoy the Dems keeping control of the Senate. They will kill the filibuster.

Must have broken your heart to see that old RINO Bennett lose in Utah. He was a damn site better than Gnarly.

Funniest thing I’ve seen since coming to FR is all the idiots rallying for Gnarly because Sybil says so.

I am not from California, but I, too, have favored DeVore to this point. I was disappointed that Sarah endorsed Carly instead of Chuck.

One important question (for me) however — Is it true that DeVore holds to a position similar to Ron Paul regarding foreign and military policy? What I mean is, does he REALLY believe that Al Queda, Iran and radical Islamofascism doesn’t present an “existential threat” to our nations survival? Simple question. A “yes” or “no” answer will suffice. If he wished to explain the yes or no, I’d love to hear it....

Chuck DeVore is the conservative in the race with a voting record.

Campbell might as well be a democrat.

Carly Fiorina has endosements, a platform and money of her own to finance a campaign against Boxer.

Any candidate that doesn’t have the spine, guts, and gonads to expose the enemies of freedom, they don’t deserve our support or our votes. We’re at war for our survival.

Yeah I’m a RINO lol. You’re a Marxist Obama lover in your actions, attempting to degrade the GOP, wherever you can.

Who is Sybil? Palin.

You bashing Palin on non Palin threads too?

The author appears to be missing the whole point of this forum. Pissant and many others are here to promote conservative values. We are not here to advance partisan interests.

Degrade it? Try UPGRADE IT.

You have a problem with the types of GOPers I support and have supported over the years? Such as:

DeMint, Hunter I , Hunter II, Chaffetz, Pence, Tancredo, Steve King, Bachmann, Jeff Sessions, Jim Inhofe, Ted Poe, Mike Rounds, Ollie North, Ronald Reagan, Jesse Helms, Gunny Pop, DeVore, Vaughn Ward, Jesse Kelly, Henry Hyde, Franks, Hayworth, Issa, Rohrbacher, Hoekstra, Blackburn, Sam Johnson, Cubin, Doc Hastings, McMorris, West, Cheney, Bolton, Meese, etc.

Just because you sniff palin’s chair, doesn’t mean the rest of us are going to.
