Conservative gives the candidate he backs in California an ultimatum [Get moving DeVore]

(CNN) – A prominent conservative is issuing an ultimatum, essentially telling the candidate he supports to do better in the polls – or lose his support.

Erick Erickson, editor-in-chief of RedState.com, backs Assemblyman Chuck DeVore in the California Republican senate primary. DeVore is locked in a battle with former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina and former Rep. Tom Campbell for the right to face Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer in November.

Speaking Tuesday with CNN Chief National Correspondent John King, Erickson – a CNN contributor - said he won't support DeVore much longer if the candidate does not improve his political standing.

"Look, if Chuck DeVore hasn't gone up in the polls within two weeks significantly, I'll be with Carly Fiorina because Tom Campbell is that bad," Erickson said.

I agree. And, I would rather he drop out and get behind Fiorina. WE’VE GOT TO GET RID OF THAT BABS BOXER WITCH (or a word that rhymes with “witch”).

But, after running for months and having people support you and give you campaign donations, it’s hard to walk away.

I dunno.............

Oops, look like you have pissed off Jim. I understand his sentiments. This is a tuffy; go with your heart and take the chance on splitting the vote between DeVore and Fiorino and putting the GOP nomination in the hands of a KNOWN, sorry a** RINO like Campbell or drop out and back Fiorino who is not as bad as Campbell but is a “John McCain-type” Conservative????

This is not looking good for our team. I’m afraid the GOP will go into November battered, bruised, broken and split and Boxer will re-take this seat and if so, put me on suicide watch.

You’re not going to get a yes or no answer here ... :-) ... but here is some answer ...

Fair enough — It wasn’t a “yes” or “no” exactly, but it explained DeVore’s answer. Thanks for posting.

>just can’t get his word out!>

DeVore has gotten his word out that that is the problem to us Conservative Republicans.

He has all the anti war talking points of Ron Paul.
He is backed by the anti war Ron Paul loons.

I see the RINO DeVore supports still don’t have a clue.

DeVore said Al Qaida and the Taliban are not a threat to the U.S.
DeVore has all the Ron Paul anti war talking points

Srah Palin’s son is in the Army and has served a year in Iraq.
Sarah Palin understands we have been attacked and are at war for our survival.

I sure wish we had a real conservative candidate in this race. - It looks like no matter who wins, we lose. The same goes for the Governor this year.

Sarah Palin is being used like a whore by McCain to build his political dynasty in the Senate.

Yeah, that's why she endorsed Rand Paul and did not back McCain flunkies Crist and Mark Kirk of IL.

Come on now Jim.

I have met too many politicians lately who are stupid as a box of rocks.

It is as if some of these candidates are just borderline mentally retarded in the medical definition of the term. (republican and democrat alike)

I don’t like fiorina, but I am glad this endorser is doing this.

I don’t agree with some of his views, but if we cut and run and don’t win this war, all else is meaningless.

They don’t make pockets in shruods.

Effin RINO pushers make me sick.

I personally don't give a crap about Fiorina other than seeing it from Sarah's perspective why she endorsed her.

To say that Palin is being used by McCain to build his political dynasty is beneath you, Jim. I would bet that Sarah agonized over this endorsement but felt that defeating pro-abortion Boxer and pro-abortion/pro-terrorist Campbell were far more important than helping a conservative who's been running for 11 months and has barely raised a million dollars.

Other than McCain - who was Sarah's former running mate and she promised she would help him long before JD entered the race - and Fiorina, who with Palin's endorsement would have a better chance of being a conservative than an Olympia Snowe - what RINOs have Palin endorsed or helped McCain with? Again, I am not promoting RINOs but I am looking at this race from Sarah's perspective because you know she needs to build a coalition if she's running for POTUS.

It’s all moot anyway. Liberals and union thugs are going to cross over and vote for Campbell. And Boxer will enjoy another term of looking down at our military because they didn’t address her properly.
