To: throwback

I have a family member doing ok with it. She is in with a group of doctors and psychiatrists. Of course, as the article (a little snidely) points out, a lot of these majors you don’t go into because you want to be rich.

For instance, a reformed pastor does about eight years of school and prep to get a church. Many of them don’t earn much once they get one. They do it for their calling.

The whole educational system is screwed up, in my opinion. I wonder how we ever got to a place where people went into advanced education simply to get a job or play football.

Part of it is because employers don’t expect people to be able to do much with a modern H.S. education. College is the new H.S., for many of these degrees.
