I'm glad to see this too. I'd like to think it's been my constant prodding of Tea Partiers (and conservative activists in general) to not forget the social issues just because fiscal issues are at the forefront right now - but I doubt I've been that effective ;)
At any rate, glad to see that the Ron Paulians and other liberaltarian types are failing in their efforts at coopting the Tea Party movement.
What? Ron Paul is mentioned by name in the Maine GOP Platform.
There is a lot in the Maine GOP Platform that’s pure Ron Paul. And Ron Paul people and Tea Partiers are very close on a lot of the issues. It’s hard to tell sometimes whether an idea is a “Ron Paul” idea or a “Tea Party” idea.
The only thing that I can remember offhand in the Maine GOP Platform that many Ron Paul people would disagree with had to do with foreign policy and jihad.
Austrian Economics - Ron Paul
No One world government - Ron Paul (others too).
Go back to 2007 and watch a Republican debate. Ron Paul was the only candidate that focused extensively on the Constitution. Yes, the Tea Parties also focus on the Constitution, but back in 2007, it was Ron Paul.
Yes. In my opinion social issues should always drive economic ones, but I can see how the fiscal suicide that Obama wants us to do is the issue for many.
