When 200 hispanic students skipped school last week and marched through downtown Morgan Hill, California chanting "Si se puede" intermixed with "We want respect," none were banned from school attendance on their return.
When five students, one of them an American from latino roots, wore American flags to school as a sign of patriotic speech, they were labeled incendiary. They were instructed to turn their shirts inside-out so as to cover up the American flag. And when they refused to surrender their first amendment right to expression, they were given unexcused absences.

I haven’t heard much news about this. You know what with the media beating the drum against the state of Arizona for protecting it’s borders and limiting the ability of greedy employers and racist liberals from exploit under paid minorities and undercutting American wages....
Let's start with -
"From the halls of Montezuma ...."
they need to be reminded what country they are in..if they love mexico so much as to want to fly their flag then thats where they should be...in the country they feel allegience to. why waste time in USA.
The school principal wisely decided to NOT pursue any actions against the students...
The problem was the assistant school principal - a Hispanic - mostly likely rabid Latino who was advocating for Pro Mexican and Anti-American displays of allegiance...
I HOPE the parents SUE big time....
thanks Jim for posting that video on every thread!
When a nation embraces a holiday based on a foreign heritage of those who have no tolerance of our OWN civic pride, it’s time to drop that celebration on our soil. Time to BAN Cinco de Mayo in America if it means we have to flip the bird to our own flag.
My personal favorite song about Mexico.
Revolution is coming to this country as corporate America, their brought political puppets, their leftwing ideological leaders, and their MSM mouthpieces will eventually be overthrown violently. For any freepers who think they may one day be part of the post Revolution America, take note of all the offenders, make a list of their names. In most post revolutionary periods, the people will ask the government for justice and to address past grievances. Such a list and written record of the offenses will come very handy. Who knows, someone may become an official in the new American regime with power to dispense justice.
WE DEMAND RESPECT YOU F*CKING CRACKERS!

The act of banning the national flag of one’s own country is a sign of surrender. When the flag of your own country is considered “illegal” that shows you that there is surrendering going on without a fight.
Really? It's all over the internet, but even my 84 y/o Father, WWII vet, who doesn't peruse these VRWC sites such as FR heard about this, probably from watching Fox on TV ... he brought it up tonight during a family dinner, unasked, he just brought it up .. and it was surprising that he got it mostly right (that there were Hispanic's in the bunch wearing US Flags) ... we all agreed that the Principal should be held accountable for this egregious breach of 1st Amendment rights
In their shoes, I’d have refused to leave. After all, a kid’s got a right to an education. It would have made good copy to be arrested and dragged out of school in handcuffs — or tazed — for wearing a patriotic American emblem. People need to be awakened to what’s going on in schools.
I went to the Morgan Hill(regularly scheduled) Saturday Tea Party demo today which was also in support of the boys. They seemed like clean-cut, well-spoken nice kids.
What is it about Mexicans and so-called Mexican culture that is such a big stinking deal?
On St. Patrick’s day, many, many non-Irish go out and have a good time and “pretend” they are Irish. Or they don’t. Or they eat corned beef and cabbage. Or they don’t. Nobody cares.
On Columbus Day, many, many non-Italians celebrate and go out to Italian restaurants. Or they don’t. Nobody cares.
On Christmas Day, most Jews go out and catch a movie and eat Chinese food, since almost everything is closed. Or, they substitute-work for their Christian friends so their friends can take the day off and be with their families. It’s not a big deal.
But Mexicans, that’s a whole ‘nother story. I would bet you that no more than one out of a hundred Mexicans could tell you that Cinco de Mayo is a very unimportant holiday, or perhaps I should say that C de M celebrates a relatively minor event...a Mexican victory over the French, of all things.
I’m probably a lot less demonstrably patriotic than many on FR, but this irritates me way out of proportion to the topic matter.
They probably wont. Two of the Mothers were on The Factor. Both said the boys had no issue with the VP, and liked him. It’s all the mexican kids that are perpetuating this crap with threats, protests, etc.
Maybe in the MSM, but it’s been all over Fox news and talk radio!
We had a tea party rally today in Morgan Hill in support of the four students wearing the american flag, It was a good turnout and great response from the cars passing by.
all of this hubbub over a ‘holiday’ that isn’t even celebrated in Mexico, unless you’re in Puebla
someone needs to tell these children, that 1) respect is what they are supposed to show to their elders and country and is not theirs to “demand” and, 2) when in America, flags of foreign nations are Always flown lower than the American flag
