Sarah Palin has angered fans by endorsing former Hewlett Packard chief Carly Fiorina instead of a more conservative challenger in her bid to become the Republican candidate aiming to unseat California Senator Barbara Boxer.
Palin, a darling of the right-wing, announced on her Facebook page on Thursday that she was backing Fiorina as she attempts to win the Republican ticket for the election in California later this year.
The 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidate said she was supporting Fiorina as a "Commonsense Conservative" on the basis of her "fiscal conservatism rooted in real life experience."
"We can trust Carly to do the right thing for America?s economy and to make the principled decisions she has throughout her professional career," Palin wrote in her endorsement.
However Palin's support has enraged supporters of California Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, who view Fiorina as a RINO -- Republican In Name Only -- an epithet used by right-wingers to disparage pro-business candidates who do not always embrace socially conservative stances.
"Sorry, governor Palin, but Chuck DeVore is California's only conservative candidate for senator," one poster wrote.
"I'm very disappointed in you, Sarah. You should know better!!," another posted added.

"Palin: Obama birth certificate 'a fair question'
Speaking to the conservative talker Rusty Humphries today, Sarah Palin left the door open to speculation about President Obama's birth certificate.
"Would you make the birth certificate an issue if you ran?" she was asked (around 9 minutes into the video above).
"I think the public rightfully is still making it an issue. I don't have a problem with that. I don't know if I would have to bother to make it an issue, because I think that members of the electorate still want answers," she replied.
"Do you think it's a fair question to be looking at?" Humphries persisted.
"I think it's a fair question, just like I think past association and past voting records -- all of that is fair game," Palin said. "The McCain-Palin campaign didn't do a good enough job in that area."
McCain's campaign counsel has said the campaign did look into the birth certificate question and, like every other serious examination, dismissed it.
Palin suggested that the questions were fair play because of "the weird conspiracy theory freaky thing that people talk about that Trig isn't my real son -- 'You need to produce his birth certificate, you need to prove that he's your kid,' which we have done."
"Maybe we can reverse that," she said, returning to Obama's birth certificate, describing the type of thinking involved with a word that isn't clear in the audio."
Chuck Devore: Taliban and Al Qaeda DO NOT present existential threat to US
It seems that Sarah Palin is more "up with it" than most people know ... :-)

I mean, with these things ... Chuck DeVore doesn't need any enemies... he's made all the enemies he needs, himself, for his election campaign ... LOL ...
Chuck Devore: Taliban and Al Qaeda DO NOT present existential threat to US
It seems that Sarah Palin is more "up with it" than most people know ... :-)
Wow, you Palinbots sure are desperate. Go back and watch the full clip. DeVore is an intelligence officer and made the point that we need to kill terrorists, not build their country for them. If Palin and Fiorina disagree with that statement, heaven help them.
Sorry ... major fail ... that’s Obama’s line ... that it’s not a threat to us ... Chuck DeVore needs to stay out of the Senate and stay home ... :-)
Nice dodge but he didn't say that. You should work for Obama, he could use your skills at spin....LOL
I get it now, you don't know what existential means...LOL.
I get it now, you don't know what existential means...LOL.
Believe me... it's much worse ... when you see the definition ... LOL ... From Merriam-Webster's dictionary ...
-- EXISTENTIAL -- Main Entry: ex·is·ten·tial Function: adjective Date: 1693 1 : of, relating to, or affirming existence [existential propositions] 2 a : grounded in existence or the experience of existence : empirical 2 b : having being in time and space
This guy doesn't think it's a threat related to "existence" -- not grounded in "time and space" ... not grounded in "experience" ...
This guy, Chuck DeVore, needs to stay in California where there are a lot of "non-existential types" there ... LOL ...
Just like I thought, you don’t know what it means. LOL...
Apparently neither does Merriam-Webster ... LOL ...
You had to look it up and can’t understand its use in a sentence. LOL...
I understood it exactly as what Merrian-Webster said... that was for your benefit... doncha know ... :-)
"Short answer to your question is yes, it is unconstitutional and for that reason, I signed a pledge to repeal Obamacare four months ago. Carly Fiorina signed it the day after it passed and Tom Campbell still signed the pledge.
To go back to the previous question, though, I think it's very important what's going on in Afghanistan. It's very important that we understand that the Taliban and Al-qaida does not present a existential threat to the united states. They don't have an industrial base. They don't have armies. They're terrorists. Now, because of the fact that Afghanistan has no means of national support for a large army, where is the endgame? Are you proposing that we just stay in Afghanistan until they develop a modern economy and a modern democracy? For heaven's sakes, their constitution was drafted by the French as part of the NATO mission and it envisions a strong central government which is inimical like afghan culture and tradition. I'm an intelligence officer. I'm a lieutenant colonel. I've studied this issue. We need to kill our enemies. We don't need to build a modern nation state where one cannot exist for 100 years."
Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) has also tried to find the elusive middle ground.
"They have a point," he said of the birthers last week. "I don't discourage it. ... But I'm going to pursue defeating [Obama] on things that I think are very destructive to America."
My Senator James Inhofe is a smart man and a great Senator for the state... and a great man for the United States Senate... I can’t think of a better guy ... :-)
Good to know that he agrees with birthers then...LOL.
Good to know that he agrees with birthers then...LOL.
I think he and Sarah Palin know how to stay away from the issue -- themselves -- as you note that neither of them will "take it up" in what they personally do... (always letting "others" take care of it ...).
However, Chuck DeVore doesn't exhibit too much in the way of "media smarts" and "steps in it" and calls the birthers -- "crazies" ... which doesn't help "one way or the other" ... you see... as it puts him right in the middle of the controversy, personally, and he won't "get out of it" in the general election.
It's like I've always said about the "birther issue" in that if you find a candidate who "stays away from it" personally -- then that's a sign that he's "running for office" ... :-)
LOL, Palin doesn’t know if she would make it an issue in her campaign. Let us know when she figures it out won’t you?
LOL, Palin doesnt know if she would make it an issue in her campaign. Let us know when she figures it out wont you?
Let me save you the trouble of waiting to find out. Any cadidate who is going to run for office -- and thinks they have a chance of winning... they won't be taking up this "birther issue" in their campaign... LOL ...
If you're waiting for a serious candidate to do so (of course, the "losers" do... doncha know) -- you're going to have a very long wait. They know that taking up the birther issue in their campaign for office would be like having the "plague" and shaking hands with people... (eewwww!).... that's how it would be ... :-)
So, don't bother waiting to see if Sarah Palin is going to pick up the birther issue in any future campaign and don't expect my U.S. Senator James Inhofe to be picking it up either (as he says he's got better things to do, like opposing Obama on some issues and legislation and other political matters)...
Don't hold your breath ... if that's what you're doing ... :-)
