Oops, sorry. Thanks for clarifying.
I like the term “constituencies.” It emphasizes the representative nature of legislatures.
Exit poll in about half an hour when the polls close.
First results within the hour, slow trickle till about 12-1am our time and then it speeds up.
A few seats don’t count til the morning...but we should have a good idea by around 3-4am our time, so 11ish est yours!
“The earliest results are expected around 11pm, with the majority of the 650 constituencies planning to declare by 6am.”
I’m with Peter Hitchens in thinking that a victory for Camreon is a victory for Cameronism and the death of any chance for Thatcherism now or in the the future.
I hope he fails, to get a Tory majority.
LOL!
2134 Breaking news from the Press Association:
“Mr and Mrs Brown had lamb stew for dinner at their home. The Prime Minister went for a nap at about 8.30pm.”
2128 Shocking incompetence from council officials in Merseyside. The Liverpool Echo is reporting that voters were turned away from polling booths due to a shortage of ballot papers. On the bright side, the incident adds to the growing pile of anecdotal evidence of high turnout.
2123 As you watch the results come in on television this evening, you’ll want this spreadsheet up on your computers. It currently shows every seat in the country, listed by expected declaration time, with the swing needed for each one to change hands. It will be updated through the night with instant results.
2118 Alastair Jamieson, our man at the Poplar & Limehouse count, witnessed some disturbing scenes in Tower Hamlets earlier today, where police were called to a school in Copley Road, Stepney, to deal with a gang of about 20 workers from all parties who were crowding voters at the entrance to the polling station:
“The Telegraph observed that Asian women were being particularly targeted by the crowd, who followed them into the entrance, shouting. Many of those voting appeared to be neighbours or relatives of those hanging around the polling station entrance and were appealing to them directly for their vote.”
That tweet in #23 apparently violates UK Election laws.
11 pm London is 6 pm New York.
An exit poll is supposedly going to be released around 10 pm London.
You bet it does. It’s already been deleted, but it’s all over twitter. Martha Kearney of the BBC trying to scare labour supporters out to the polls....
I just looked and FreeBritannia has 8 members online during this election.
He skipped FR for that??
I wonder what punishment she could get for that? A stern look?
I hope Malcolm Peter Brian Telescope Adrian Umbrella Stand Jasper Wednesday (pops mouth twice) Stoatgobbler John Raw Vegetable (sound effect of horse whinnying) Arthur Norman Michael (blows squeaker) Featherstone Smith (blows whistle) Northgot Edwards Harris (fires pistol, then ‘whoop’) Mason (chuff-chuff-chuff-chuff) Frampton Jones Fruitbat (laughs) (squeaker) Gilbert (sings) ‘We’ll keep a welcome in the’ (three shots, stops singing) Williams If I Could Walk That Way Jenkin (squeaker) Tiger-drawers Pratt Thompson (sings) ‘Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head’ Darcy Carter (horn) Pussycat (sings) ‘Don’t Sleep In The Subway’ Barton Mainwaring (hoot, ‘whoop’) Smith’s son is able to avenge his father’s lass this year.
I wonder how the “Norwegian Party” is doing?
I guess FReepers are tuned in to this particular election.
not
Free Britannia is hardly an active board. I think MadIvan lost his mind if he is over there, has there even been a post since yesterday?
Exit poll for BBC, Sky and ITV News predicts a hung parliament with the Conservatives the largest party. The poll puts the Conservatives on 307 seats, Labour on 255, the Liberal Democrats on 59 and others on 29.
BBC exit poll says Conservatives largest party, 19 short of an overall majority.
