There do seem to be a lot of solid blue constituencies left unannounced.

Historically, England's electorate was confined to the propertied classes. That changed only in the twentieth century, when Labour supplanted the Liberal Party.

Conservatives are at 48% of the declared seats and growing. Labour is at 35%, and the Liberal Democrats are lagging further back than expected (i.e., media hype).

206 + 153 + 30 = 389

Conservatives are majority at this point.

You may be right about at least about a strong minority government for the Conservatives. If that's correct, Brown may want to throw in the towel. If they get a majority, he becomes the next Prime Minister.

It looks good so far but until the Conservative seat tally goes over 310, no one is celebrating yet.

They’re going to pass 300 at some point as well. Pretty clear that the Conservatives will be well clear of Labour.

If Norman Bates is correct, they can govern alone.
